METCRAX radiances
Backward MYSTIC allows to calculate sky radiance distributions at point
locations. The following images show MYSTIC's view from the FLOOR site, 2m
above the ground, at 500nm. The time is 15:00, the sun is in the South West, at a
solar zenith angle of 61° (marked by a cross). The sky radiance
distribution was calculated with a step width of 1° in both azimuth and
zenith direction; thus, more than 30000 individual directions were
calculated. Although the computational time for each direction was only 2s
(50000 photons), the computation of the image took nearly a full day.
